How are we making an impact?

The Healing Project’s Impact Report reflects the collective work of our community, partners, volunteers, and families served across Austin and Central Texas. Our impact is rooted in direct service, access to essential resources, and community-powered support.

Through our programs, we have:

  • Distributed 100,000+ pounds of food to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity

  • Provided food, hygiene items, household essentials, and baby supplies through the Healing Closet and Healing on Wheels

  • Supported thousands of families through resource navigation by sharing trusted local organizations offering housing stabilization, food access, healthcare, transportation, and other basic needs

  • Coordinated shared housing and housing navigation support for individuals seeking stabilization

  • Mobilized volunteers and community partners to remove access barriers and meet families where they are

Our Impact Report is not just a set of numbers—it represents real households supported, real partnerships built, and real care delivered in moments of need.

We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and community-led solutions as we continue to grow and respond to evolving needs.

Community Cookout at Givens Park – November 1, 2025

On November 1, 2025, our community came together at Givens Park for an incredible day of unity, service, and love. Together, we served over 1,200 free barbecue plates to families, seniors, and neighbors across Austin. Volunteers not only distributed meals at the park but also delivered them to local shelters, apartment complexes, and encampments—ensuring that everyone could share in the spirit of community and care.

This event was made possible through the generosity and partnership of our amazing sponsors and supporters:
10,000 Fearless First Responders, ATX Peace, My Sister Keepers ATX, Texas Empowerment Academy, DAWA, Muhammad Mosque #64, A Little Bit of Good, Willie Chapel, ATX Soul Radio, Team Camille Crayton, Slab BBQ, Lillie Mae’s Comfort Food, LB’s Catering and Children’s Foundation, CW LLC, H-E-B, Central Texas Food Bank, and Costco.

Emergency Food Distribution – October 30, 2025

On October 30, 2025, The Healing Project hosted an Emergency Food Distribution in partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank and Texas Empowerment Academy. This drive-thru style event allowed families to safely and efficiently receive fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential items right from their vehicles.
