Volunteer (Heal with us)
Be the Bridge. Be of Service. Be the Healing.
At The Healing Project, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From food access and basic needs support to housing stabilization and resource navigation, our work only happens because community members show up for other community members.
Volunteering with us means more than just helping at an event — it means representing The Healing Project in the community, building trust, sharing resources, and helping neighbors connect to the support they need. Whether you’re tabling at an event, supporting outreach, helping at a distribution, or representing us at a community gathering, you are helping us bring care, dignity, and access directly to the people we serve.
We welcome volunteers who are dependable, compassionate, and ready to show up — on weekdays, weekends, or both — as part of a community-rooted team..
What you might do:
Table at community events and resource fairs
Support outreach at schools, apartment complexes, and neighborhood events
Help at distributions and special events
Share information about our programs and services
Support basic resource navigation (with training and team support)
Represent The Healing Project with care and respect
We’re looking for volunteers who are dependable, compassionate, and ready to show up.
HEALING NAVIGATORS
Healing on Wheels
Support our mobile outreach program that brings food and basic needs directly to people who can’t make it to a pantry or resource site. Volunteers may help with packing, loading, deliveries, outreach, and check-ins with households, seniors, people with disabilities, and families in crisis—always with team support and care.
Help us sort, pack, and distribute food, baby items, hygiene and household items to local families. Great for individuals, families, and groups looking to give back.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help keep our volunteer program running smoothly. Volunteer Coordinators support scheduling, communication, onboarding, and day-of coordination for events and outreach. This role helps make sure volunteers feel supported, informed, and ready to show up for community.
Social Media
Support The Healing Project by helping share our story, programs, and impact. This role may include creating or scheduling posts, taking photos at events, helping with flyers or digital content, and spreading the word about volunteer opportunities, programs, and community events.
Fundraising Coordinator
Help us grow the resources that keep our work going. Fundraising Support volunteers may assist with events, campaigns, donor outreach, sponsorships, grant research, or behind-the-scenes organizing that helps sustain and expand our programs.
Community Outreach
Be the face of The Healing Project in the community. Outreach volunteers help table at events, attend community gatherings, share information about our programs, and support basic resource navigation. This role focuses on building trust, connecting neighbors to resources, and representing our work with care and respect.
Healing Closet Navigator
The Healing Closet Navigator Volunteer helps run The Healing Project’s Healing Closet—where we distribute hygiene items, baby supplies, food, and home goods to individuals from marginalized communities. This volunteer ensures the closet stays organized, welcoming, and well-stocked while engaging clients with dignity and care.
