Families shop with dignity. Volunteers greet them like good neighbors. Parents finally MATTER and get to shop for THEM. Children leave with both what they need and the feeling that their community cares for them.

Now picture this same space as more than a store. A place you can receive same-day services, connect with community partners that offer utility assistance, rental assistance, resource navigation, maternal health support, education, healthcare, and beyond.

That’s the vision of HEALINGS — a permanent storefront + warehouse where The Healing Project can serve families in Austin and Central Texas with dignity, consistency, and love.

Why HEALINGS, Why Now

Right now, The Healing Project is outgrowing its current space. We’ve received a 90-day notice to vacate, but the truth is, we were already running out of room. The need is too great, and our community deserves more.

Since 2021, The Healing Project has served tens of thousands of families every year through our Healing Closet, food pantries, and delivery services. We do this in partnership with Central Texas Food Bank, H-E-B, Costco, and other agencies who provide food and essentials. We do this through volunteers and community trust.

But now, we need a bigger home. A place built for the scale of this work.

We need to raise $90,000 to:

  • Secure a larger, permanent space.

  • Outfit it with shelving, storage, and supplies.

  • Hire community members with lived experience to lead this work.

  • Expand our reach to include on-site wraparound services through partners.
