Bringing Food Access to Our Communities

Healing Hunger: Food Access Program

The Healing Project’s Healing Hunger Food Access Program is our commitment to fighting food insecurity and building pathways to nourishment across Central Texas. Through this initiative, we provide consistent access to healthy food, fresh produce, and essential groceries for families in need.

We proudly operate monthly food pantries at Texas Empowerment Academy in partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank, where families can drive through and receive nutritious groceries in a welcoming, supportive environment.

In addition, we host a monthly food pantry at The Healing Project every second Friday of the month, offering walk-in access to food and essential items for community members seeking immediate relief and connection.

As we continue to expand our reach, our new Healing on Wheels program brings these same resources directly to the doorsteps of families who face barriers to transportation — ensuring that everyone, regardless of circumstance, has access to food, care, and community support.

Together with our volunteers and partners, we’re healing hunger — one delivery, one family, one act of compassion at a time.

No appointment or I.D needed for Food Pantries!

Additional Food Resources

We understand that not everyone can make it to our monthly food pantries. If you’re unable to attend, you can still find support through our local resource list on our website.

Visit the Resources section at www.healingprojectatx.org to access a comprehensive list of local food pantries, mobile food pantries, and emergency food programs available throughout Austin and surrounding areas.

Our goal is to make sure every family has a way to connect with food and essential support — whether that’s through our in-person pantries, our Healing on Wheels program, or our community resource directory designed to help you find nearby options quickly and easily.

Emergency Food Distribution – October 30, 2025

On October 30, 2025, The Healing Project hosted an Emergency Food Distribution in partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank and Texas Empowerment Academy. This drive-thru style event allowed families to safely and efficiently receive fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential items right from their vehicles.

In just a few hours, we were able to serve hundreds of families across Austin—providing immediate relief and nourishment to those in need.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers who showed up with dedication, compassion, and teamwork to make this day a success. Together, we continue to fight food insecurity and bring hope to our community, one family at a time.

Weekly Food Pickups & Partnerships

Each week, The Healing Project picks up food donations from Costco and H-E-B as part of our mission to reduce food insecurity across Central Texas. These generous partnerships allow us to not only support our own community pantry, but also act as a distribution hub for several grassroots organizations that connect with us directly at the store.

Through this collaborative model, we help deliver food to partners like Urban Alchemy, serving unhoused neighbors in downtown Austin; Love Serve Feed, which provides food to individuals and families throughout the Round Rock area; and MomRise, a powerful Austin-based organization focused on supporting single mothers and children.

We also support transitional housing and reentry programs like A Season of Peace, and help launch or strengthen new pantries—such as My Seniors in Georgetown, serving seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, and Keep Families Fed in Pflugerville.

With our combined efforts, we feed hundreds of individuals and families every week, creating a powerful network of care, nourishment, and dignity across our communities.
